Pantone have totally spoilt us by announcing not one but two colours of the year for 2016. The winning combination features Rose Quartz, a warm soft pink and and Serenity, a cool dusty blue.

Reminiscent of a summer sunset, these two shades are a versatile pairing. Here’s how to get the look:

  • Combine Rose Quartz and Serenity with rose gold accents to bring extra depth and dimension to the palette.
  • Watercolour or ombre is a fantastic way to subtly combine the two shades together.
  • Blue isn’t always an obvious choice for bridal flowers but hydrangeas, delphinium, muscari or scabiosa could all work perfectly.

The match is also intended to challenge traditional perceptions of colour association, where rather than seeing pink as a purely feminine colour and blue as the boy’s stomping ground, we realise that combined, the two shades are really quite complimentary and even more impactful than they are alone.

What do you think of Pantone’s first colour ‘combo’ of the year?

Love,
