Hi everyone and hope you’re enjoying the sunny weather as much as I am here at Lovestruck HQ

Whilst all brides and grooms pray that the rain stays away on their big day, extreme hot weather is actually just as disruptive as the wet stuff and can lead to you and your guests feeling quite uncomfortable. So if any part of your ceremony or reception is going to be held outdoors here are my tips for keeping cool when the weather heats up.

1 // Place parasols around the venue for you and your guests to grab when the sun’s at its peak. Jolly Brolly have some beautiful designs. They make great props for your photographs too.

2 // Fans are a great way to cool down and you can even have your order of service information printed onto them to create a unique keepsake for your guests. Etsy has tons of different styles available.

3 // Ask your caterers to serve up ice cream or go the whole hog and hire an ice cream van – we love Daisy, a beautiful vintage van. These gorgeous sorbet wedding cakes have also caught our eye as a cool twist on the wedding day dessert.

4 // Make sure there’s plenty of non-alcoholic refreshments available. Fill drink pails with bottled water (add personalised labels for that extra special touch) or fill glass infuser jars with cloudy lemonade or fruit cordials. Vintage Style Hire have some lovely ones available (to rent or buy).

5 // Oshibori towels (the wet cloths you get served in restaurants or on aeroplanes) are fabulous for a quick cool-down and are created by dipping cotton flannels into ice old water before rolling them up sushi-style.

6 // Sunburn and bug-bites can ruin your big day so dot containers with bottles of sunscreen and insect repellent around your venue.

Love,
